WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Following a sold-out UK tour, The Play That Goes Wrong will open at The Duchess Theatre on 14 September 2014, with previews from 3 September.
The Play That Goes Wrong burst onto the stage with phenomenal success last year, having originally opened as a one-act show at the Old Red Lion in London, before transferring to the Trafalgar Studios (Studio 2). Winners of the WhatsOnStage award for Best New Comedy 2014, the acclaimed play is currently enjoying a 21 week tour which ends this July.
Co-written by Mischief Theatre company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, and directed by Mark Bell, The Play That Goes Wrong is a highly physical comedy packed with finely-tuned farce and Buster Keaton inspired slapstick delivered with split-second timing. The play introduces The ‘Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’ who are attempting to put on a 1920s’ murder mystery, but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong… does, as the accident prone thespians battle on against all the odds to get to their final curtain call.
