Renée Elise Goldsberry, Angelica in the current cast of Broadway hit Hamilton, has hinted that the planned West End transfer of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony Award-nominated musical will feature members of the original cast.
Speaking in New York at the New Dramatists Spring Luncheon honouring six-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald, Goldsberry said: "[The West End transfer] is very exciting. You're going to get the very best of us there."
Christopher Jackson (George Washington) and Daveed Diggs (Jefferson/Lafayette) were less forthcoming about the possibility of making the trip across the pond, with Jackson saying: "We're not sure yet, but I'd love to come to the West End."
As reported last month, Hamilton will transfer to the West End in 2017, as well as touring to Europe and Australia.
Cameron Mackintosh will produce the show and it has been rumoured that it will head into the Victoria Palace Theatre, the former home of Billy Elliot which was recently purchased by Mackintosh and is undergoing refurbishment.
Hamilton, which tells the story of US founding father Alexander Hamilton, has won fans including Barack Obama and Samuel L Jackson. After premiering at the off-Broadway Public Theatre, it opened on Broadway with advance sales of over £20 million.
